New research finding by Prof. Xuhui HUANG (CHEM/CBE) and Dr. Ilona Christy UNARTA (CBE)

A team led by Prof. Xuhui HUANG (CHEM/CBE) and Dr. Ilona Christy UNARTA (CBE) has uncovered the mechanism of how DNA is being melted to start bacterial gene transcription and how antibiotics inhibit this process, providing useful insight into the development of new antibiotics against bacteria which have antimicrobial resistance.

The research article was published in the Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS).
